they also border most of the famous waterfront

bay-run. Being so close to the CBD and the

water has its obvious appeal with buyers,

and larger blocks than neighbouring Balmain

or Leichhardt put these suburbs in high-

demand with growing families. Each suburb

offers a unique and substantial village lifestyle,

with an abundance of restaurants, cafes and

Enmore, Newtown, Stanmore, Erskineville

What we love most about the inner west is the culture
and diversity of its people, and nowhere is it more
prevalent than here; brimming with young
professionals, artistic/creative types and
young families. Newtown and Enmore
boast the Inner West's hub of dining,
drinking and revelry, while trendy Stanmore
and Erskineville offer a somewhat quieter
and sophisticated village lifestyle. There are
some really charming original terraces here
& many residents have succeeded in balancing
the old and the new through ambitious architectural
renovations. Green spaces in these sought after suburbs
are on the leaner side, but each does have its own train station.

Marrickville, St Peters, Sydenham, Tempe

If there's an inner west neighbourhood that's managed to remain

authentic to its roots, this is it. There are pockets that have been

successfully gentrified, but still a rawness remains and continues

to be valued by its locals. More recently, the hipster crowd have

explored the area's industrial roots, with boutique breweries, bars

and distilleries now dotting the landscape. In exchange for aircraft

noise, you're spoilt for choice with restaurants, pubs, and shopping,

especially in Marrickville. It's fair to say the area could benefit from

more green spaces, but it does boast the third biggest park in the

city in the awe inspiring Sydney Park.

Petersham, Lewisham, Summer Hill, Dulwich Hill

Once considered a row of grungy neighbourhoods on the wrong
side of the tracks, these are now some of the most liveable
and loved suburbs in the Inner West. The area has some
terrific pubs and restaurants making it popular with young
families, creatives and professionals, while nearby
Petersham Park is surely one of the most lovely in Sydney
to kick a ball. Petersham and Lewisham feature plenty
of exquisite character terraces while the land sizes
around Summer Hill & Dulwich Hill tend to stretch out
a little. Heavy rail offers rapid access to the CBD in
around 10-15 minutes.
